[quote="LadyIvanna"][color=violet][size=7]But it's not working for me. I'm doing something wrong.[/color][/size][/quote]

ok - look at the tags in the post now (I disabled BBCode so you can see them without editing the post)

For example, if you want a bit of text to be blue:

[color=blue]This text would be blue if BBCode were enabled.[/color]

The [color=whatever] tag begins the color change. the [/color] ends the color change.

you can click on it - but you have to move it to the right place after you click on it.

it's usually easier to just type it.

i'm not sure if this should be considered a bug, or a feature.. :D

but if i load the forum as 'knoxgothic.com', as opposed to 'www.knoxgothic.com', i get a few weird errors when performing the normal user functions throughout the forum. i.e., quoting, replying, posting, etc.

it's pretty inconsistent, though. sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

a quick guess would be that some parts of the software use relative links, and other parts use absolute links, and that that is messing with it's internals somewhere.

that's assuming that the forum does some kind of error / spoof checking, probably based on the HTTP_REFERER enviroment variable. :!:

:!: quick note for spelling nazis: yes, i realize that 'referrer' is spelled incorrectly in 'HTTP_REFERER'. the HTTPD (that is, 'web server') programmers did this at some point, and it's still in use today for reasons of backwards compatibility. flay them, not me. :P

assuming you're using some form of the most fetid evil in the known universe windows, that feature relies on an interesting mechanism, the aim: url scheme (much like one would use http:// , ftp://, or telnet://) to initialize whatever program your windows registry thinks of as your 'aol instant messenger program'.

on my machine at work, it would be trillian. it doesn't do anything here, from x-windows.

it's possible something is askew in your system settings, but other than that, i couldn't say.

really, all the board's software does is provide the contact information in a format that most browsers can understand.

not a bug...

Reminds me of the forum from back homeā€¦ one suggestion is to change the color of the text in the login and password fields, the text can hardly be seen.

a jump to drop down at the top of the forum like the one at the bottom would be nice. :)

Vader, I am still getting other peoples email at my yahoo account. I got a couple from/to creepyrob a few weeks ago, so this is the first in a while. This one is from jj1015@aol.com. I don't know who that is, or know who it was going to. I assume it is tied up somehow in the forum's emailing system.

I sent a mail to the admins on the other forum about no mail. I have gotten a mail from JaNell about the literary forum already.

Thanks!
