Frostmourne wrote:Well I like Aleister's Music and his style. It is a shame that their are not many true Goths (or what ever you want to call it) around here. I am on nobody's side. I think the DJ's do a great jod. I just simply like the true Goth style.
I do like you. But this is absurd........true Goths?? Come on now....

Oh, and I have requests....
Karma Slave by Splashdown
Cosmic Castaway by Electrasy
(Both of those are off the Titan A.E. soundtrack)
and
Feeling Good - Muse
Salta - King Africa
I Kissed A Girl - Jill Sobule
I Do Both Jay and Jane - DJ LaRissa
Frente - Bizarre Love Triangle
DeVision - Hear Me Calling (Mesh Remix)
Cornershop - Brimful of Asha
Blind Melon - Galaxie
Amber - If You Could Read My Mind
New Kids On The Block - well, just about any song off of Hangin' Tough (yes, I went there)
Nobody - Keith Sweat
Misery - Soul Asylum
Cantaloop - US3
The Conductor or Worked Up So Sexual - The Faint
Now, these will be my standing requests for I guess the next month or so though I don't know that I really expect any of them to get played. This is an example of WHY I wouldn't be a good person to DJ though... This would be what a set would probably look like. Heh.
So, yeah....these are just a few that I could think up from looking over my media player.

Knox...... Gothic.......
I don't think anyone should try to make me feel bad or wrong because I point out that a night is not completely Gothic yet it posts in here to redirect us to an event? that could or could night be.
anyway.... out
OK.
I've tried to not respond to this bullshit, but my blood is boiling. This is the third post about this.
Dude, get over youself. You aren't making any friends here. All you are doing is pissing everyone off. Or is it a "true goth" thing to have everyone dislike you? Being a smart ass is one thing. Even being a rude smart ass....you can get away with once or twice. But, this is the third time you've insulted this scene, this community, my friends and family, and me.
Who/what gives you the right to define what the hell goth is anyway?
The gothic subculture is multi-fucking-faceted.
I don't think anyone is trying to make you feel bad or wrong for your opinion. You just haven't used any tact. We all come to knoxgothic, because there is something about the goth subculture that we can relate to, or enjoy.
We are a versatile group. We have lots of debates and misunderstandings, but the majority of us aren't on here insulting each other the way you have insulted us.
Our group doesn't consist of gother-than-thou pretentious assholes, like alot of the bigger cities. Being pretentious and full of oneself does NOT make you better than everyone else. That is one of the biggest things I love about our community/scene.
We are not backwoods incestuous hillbillies, and it is insulting to be talked down to like we are such.
And, just because you've promoted a club before, doesn't mean you are an expert on the subject.
The "plan" for temple has been stated before, and even though it is not YOUR plan, it is working.
And, Frostmourne, there is no such thing as "true goth". You must realize that, or else you wouldn't have posted your meaning of true goth is that everyone has to decide for themselves.
Aleister, honestly, the only thing positive you have brought to the table are super hot pictures of Buttercup. Which are appreciated, by the way

Speak for yourself, darling.
Seriously, we could definately use improvement on the scene, but I think everyone does a pretty good job of doing their best. We are and will always be Knoxville. We are small, our music is often mediocre, but we know how to have a damn good time. Case in point, thet's my ass Buttercup is licking!

well i post here cuz these are my friends, and my family - and the turn out by the knoxgothic crowd has been excellent - maybe you should get to know the crowd a bit before you make such statements, it seems that goths in the south like diversity, and goths from new york like only gothic music -
simply stated, i post here to tell my friends about it and to let the people of the community know they are welcome to come to temple.

Jezz I don't know if I could dance even if I tired, been out of it for toooooooo long. I have been makeing up one in my head to one song that I have but it wouldn't fit b/c it's by Play (a hip hop dance group) *thinks* well you can give it a try if you want. It's called Ever Girl by Play. That's just my two cents.

Re: hello!
Once agian with the bashing of Hip hop. I just have to ask how much hip hop have you listened to? And know, I am not talking about that Drivel they platy on the radio, I am talking underground stuff, becuase I could rattle off about a dozen hip hop artists that could fit into a goth set seamlessly. Meat Beat Manifesto Worked with DJ Z Trip on their latest album, and DJ Shadow has tons of stuff that fit the mood and theme that most "Goth" artist strive for but cannot match. But then agian there are artists in every Genre of music that cna do that, I mean Johnny Cash is another good example of this and he is about as country as you can get. But then agian like my tag says I am just the token hip hop kid here., I am just sick of hearing people bash a genre of music they know nothing about.batsandcats wrote:The goth scene is a mix but i know it isn't hip hop.....
