True dat. Everyone wants to be a goth but no one wants to be a goth. Few bands beloved of those interested in gothic culture consider themselves to be gothic. The bands mentioned for starters, and throw in Nick Cave, Diamanda Galas, Current 93 - all "not Goth," usually stated with a shudder of disgust.

And yet, go to a show, look at the fucking audience Do these bands really have no concept or appreciation of their fan base? I guess everyone just wants to be "above" the label.

But in the end, that's all it is. A label. Something to file a band, a sound, a person under for easy understanding and acceptance or rejection. in the end, if it makes you feel gothic, it's gothic. To you at least, and who the fuck else matters anyway?

The thing about the Cruxshadows is...they're assholes. I don't really care one way or the other about their music, but DAMN, THEY'RE SUCH JERKS. Well, I should correct myself. Rogue is an asshole. I lived in Tallahassee for years, and when you're there long enough, you run into him eventually.

Everybody I know who's met him has said the same thing. He's a pompous, arrogant jerk who acts like he's too good to talk to anybody who approaches him.

Also, I laugh at him because he went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter, ate a shitty movie theatre hotdog, and STILL scanned the room with this look of disgust.

Long story short : their music kinda sucks, but so does Rogue.

Out of all the times I've met him, he's always been extremely nice. Same with my friends...he's always been very cordial, and takes the time out to speak with everyone.

He is a very good businessman...that could be a reason he's so nice.

And, the other, and previous members I know of from the cruxshadows were/are all nice too...especially George

I have heard that he is very particular about the way his shows are run. He's picky. But, I would be too, if it were my shows and music.

I haven't listened to them ever, that I know of... but I probably wouldn't want to listen to a band that sounds like an orange that cheats with a banana, and causes it's orange partner to drink itself to death... sounds a little too fruity for me....

Cruxshadows have some stuff I really like, and just as much stuff I hate. But, I can say that of a lot of bands.
Props to em for making the billboard charts. I respect the fact they made enough sales to even get on the charts. Not an easy task for an Indie band.
For me it's nice to see it happen for any band (despite if I'm a like them or not) within the goth/ebm/industrial/ect genre.
I doubt it, but hopefully this marks a shift in the recording industry.

If the band is successful, then more power to them. But Rogue as a person? Total douche.
