[quote="Michael_Xi"]OK, NOW I Must Speak...
Yes, I've been Ripped more than a few times, but I'd rather hear my Playlist ripped than "Faith"....By ANYBODY. This ISN'T Banana Joe's.

Thanks for posting your view on this I would have to agree and by the way I was in no way talking about you in previous posts. Since you seem to be just a guest dj and not a part of the KGB (as far as I know) then you know I was in no way bitching about you. Since my posts always end up deleted for some reason I am using this oportunity to lay it all out on the KGB and tell them exactly what I think before they censor me again, then I'll be done with the whole thing as will several other people.

Rock on Mike

I like the heavy shit and punk. It doesn't get played nearly as much as I'd like but at least some of it gets played. Instead I hear the staples and covers. Doesn't bother me. The less time Im on the floor that more I drink, the more broke I am the next day. Not a problem. Dj's doing a shtich to get laughs and a full dance floor and suddenly everybody gets pissy. I geuss my point is that people where on the floor dancing to it and that night i didn't hear anything about it. The next day all hell breaks loose.I'm done now with this thread as well. Ill just catch it on a rerun.

Thanks to Michael for actually engaging in this discussion.

Nothing is more frustrating than watching a thread like this disintegrate into people saying "Wow, this is boring" or "Ho hum". It really showcases where the apathy is.

I personally like all our DJs as people. They're generally mellow and cool to be around.

But that doesn't mean I can't voice my opinions and request answers to questions which still haven't been answered.

The thing is, it actually is perfectly valid to bitch about how someone is doing their job when you're one of the people that pay them.

Regardless, I'm not trying to "bitch" anyway. Just trying to get some questions answered.

If 15% of the Sanctus crowd enjoys "Safety Dance", why not play other music that a different 15% would enjoy? I just want a clear, logical answer to this question.

Yes, yes it does. Shameful, shameful behavior.

Since everyone is looking at this as a service, maybe you should consider that many times how crowded the dancefloor is, is the only feedback of any kind the DJs get (and without them, it's just a bar). If they see it flooded with moving bodies, they know they're doing a good job and vice versa. Badgering them on the board will do very little good because when it comes down to it, more people are dancing to the staples than to what you requested. Also realize that if this were any other kind of service, a vast majority of you would have been removed from the premises because of your volatile tone. I'm not saying no one can have an opinion, but just because you have one doesn't mean you have to express it obnoxiously. Believe it or not, the DJ's do have feelings and some of those feelings are connected to how they do their job. I wonder how some of you would react if other people came into your work and basically told you that the way you do things sucks and then proceded to ramble on about how awful of an employee you are for the next 15 minutes. Yeah, you can say it doesn't hurt your feelings but we all like to feel competent. Some of you would do well to remember that.

You do have to realize when it comes to music, you leave yourself open to this kind of criticizm. Just like a band, dj's play music for the crowd and if the crowd doesn't like it, I know its going to be hard to believe but, they generally show their unhappiness. Be it booing or bitching it comes with the territory. If you don't like complants on what you're playing then djing is not a job for you.

Xi, thank you for joining the discussion. At least one of the dj's has responded.

And Caustic....Limp Biskit does not play fucking goth music. If you spray perfume on shit it still smells like shit. Shit is Shit realize that and your life will be much better. If you think that they are goth because they're on that soundtrack then perhaps you should watch the movie for all the raver city Zion crap.

You know here is a simple and usable suggestion. Make a new Forum specifically for new music request. Have people put up songs they'd like to hear at the club and people can go download the song and put their opinion of the song on the forum. This will surely appease the masses and give the dj's an even better understanding of what people want to listen to at the club.

There is nothing wrong with this idea and it would require minimal effort on the part of all involved.

And from where do you propose people download the music?

LOL

'Cause it's so hot, baby, I just cream myself, drooling for that Sanctus cock, mmmm, yeah, baby, bring that sweet thang over here, daddy, I need a little taste of your good stuff!

Just suggesting a wee variety of diet, to make it taste even sweeter.

If Spam here were to compose a melody or mix that fit into the "Gothic" genre, it would be considered "Gothic", even though he most certainly is not.

That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet..

Again, perhaps you should look past your blind dislike for an artist and actually pay attention to the music that's being described. I don't care if a song is performed by someone previously known for hip-hop, goth, darkwave, new age, alternative, country, or fucking polka, if they put out a tune that fits the mood, there should be nothing wrong with playing it during a "goth night".

See the point of making requests, helps but not really...i see 3908239048 different things requested every month, and 9 times out of 10 the only stuff requested that gets played is the stuff people shouldn't be requesting anyway, cus it gets played anyway.

Now, where i will say that promoting and booking and all that jazz is a difficult job, it almost ALWAYS HAS to be about the love, cus there ain't no heavy money making going on. I don't think Karla meant she wants to live off of jasons sancti-cash....she was making a point of....hey there isn't heavy money making going on here. And there is NOT.

I totally agree with the fact that different stuff should get played....i mean, fuck, if its someone NOTICABLE, people aren't going to care.....does anyone think that people will ONLY dance to a Prince song, if its Erotic City, Lets Go Crazy, or Little Red Corvette??....no you hear that grainy high pitch voice and say...ahh this is prince, i'm fucking dancing.....that will pretty much go into a simple equation of A-B= good......not A+A=good.

I also feel like my statement of "don't like don't go" was somewhat taken out of context......I truthfully don't think that even if there was no Sanctus, this community would die, i mean....how many non official KG deals are there?? at least 2 a week.....but heres exactly what i mean.......

This argument comes up every 2 months....now its said "request, talk to the djs blah blah blah" but let's face it, that doesn't work, cus if it did, then, well...this argument wouldn't be here every other month. If you don't go for a month or two, they're gonna say, oh shit, maybe we should change this up.

Now heres my bitch with everyone complaining.....everyone is always bitching about the godamn safety dance....if you hate it why do you dance to it......99 red balloons, again.....whatever else??? 3rd verse, same as the first. NOW I KNOW, everyone is gonna say "but i don't" and a fraction of you are correct, but then the other 2/3 's of you are timewarp whores. Not a bad thing. I'm just saying, if you want change, and its a good enough majority of you guys that want it....(and usually it is...i mean fuck this post is 4 pages right now) then don't preach to the choir, and then go out and sin all night long.

does all of that make any better sense??

in addition i would just like to say.....*80s night tonight @ iveys*

god i am a whore
