I got this in the icon sidebar in the chat room: the icon all disappeared replaced withthis message:

Thanks - it should come back after you refresh - but I'm trying to track this one down. I think it may be related to the problem with some people not being able to connect from work.

it's a prefs issue. click profile (near the top of the screen) and adjust it yourself.

if I adjust it for you, the rest of the server will be an hour off.

The Knoxgothic irc server is a decent touch, IRC's are always so very much fun, you might actually get more enjoyment out of a scripted html chatroom though, since irc servers have so much functionability.. Usually.. I did notice a problem or two, it seems as if your services are down it would not let me register my nick, through nickserv. It did tell me to try back later and I do plan on Doing so. At anyrate if there is anything I can do to make the irc experience a little easier on you let me know I have a rather extensive list of abilities as far as IRC goes.

One thing that does kinda weird me out is that the #knoxgothic channel or mainchat channel is not registered which means normally anyone who enters it would be opped I did notice that this is somehow disabled, good idea that .. That's really the only bug I have to report. Feel free to contact me via any of my messengers, or the irc chat should you have need of my services, I am always willing and able to make things work a little smoother. It's kinda both my job and my passion.

A few things about the IRC server...

1. It's unsupported. Right now, I don't have enough time to fuck with it, so I'm not really doing anything to make it spiffier.

2. Nickserv will not work - at all. This is intentional. If I ever get around to it, I'll integrate it with the forum username system. If.

3. Op disabling is intentional. It's there to chat, not to start op wars.

this is a bigger job than most people are aware of. not only does the developer of the services code have to be closely familiar with the phpBB database structure, but also the ircd codebase. otherwise, the kg forum could become a security issue for the ircd services, or (far worse, as far as i'm concerned) the ircd services could become a security issue for the forum itself. i don't think i need to remind any members that the latter reason is why the old chat was pulled in the first place - but if i do, consider this your reminder. :mrgreen:

so, while registered nicks would be nice, and they're definitely near the top of everyone's wishlist for the chatroom, you can probably expect a shitload of smaller enhancements well before services get implemented - if they ever do get implemented.

Well, I suspect this was related to a serious problem I discovered today.

I think it's fixed now.

what do u mean im not set up for email?....when i first ever created a profile, it asked for my email addy and gave it....vader what do i need to do?
