Not sure if anyone wants to meet up for drinks at 4620 again... They get MANY more pinks there on a Saturday night, but it is not too bad before 10.

Dear All,

The venue for the Black Ball has changed. The ball will go on at the same time planned, but it will be at the Electric Ballroom.

The reason for this last minute move (we just found out ourselves a few hours ago and have been working to secure a location at the last minute) was an unforeseen problem with the room above ThInQ Tank. A visit from the fire marshal today illuminated a problem with the back fire exit. It seems that any outside emergency exit must have an awning over it, incase of snow. While it is quite ridiculous to expect snow in September, codes are nonetheless enforced in a way that makes it impossible for us to have our event there as planned. The ThInQ Tank folks did all humanly possible to help us secure another venue and we are grateful to them for all of their help. They will be implementing the required modifications on the building as quickly as possible, and as soon as the fire marshal okays the fire escape, we will be able to resume our plans for a weekly night. They wanted us to apologize to all of you for the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate turn of events.

Now, we are happy to say that the folks at the Electric Ballroom have graciously cancelled their regular Saturday night event in favor of our party. The owner was very enthusiastic about their recent remodeling and new sound system. This, from their website, boasts, “A 1,600 sq. ft. floor, 1,000 sq. ft. show stage, 1/2 million dollar light and state of the art sound system…” One of our DJ’s, Chili, is familiar with the venue and believes that it will work out quite well. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this venue, it is located at 1213 Western Ave. It is under the Western Ave bridge across from Bradens Furniture. Take Western Ave. to Dale Ave., and Dale Ave. to Blackstock. Their website at http://www.electricballroom.net/ (beware of their scary music!) provides a map and more information.

We would like to apologize to all of you for this last minute change in plans. We realize that this is going to inconvenience some of you. We will still be having the event as planned, with the only exception being change of venue. Doors will open at 10pm and we will be open until 3am. We will have DJ’s Caustic, Chili, KarlaBOO and X. It will prove to be a lot of fun for all in attendance.

Thank you for all of your support and we’ll see you all Saturday night!

Sincerely,
ReddErin & Seraph Antaine

ABOUT GAME TRAFFIC and THE BLACK BALL

An alternate route to the Electric Ballroom, avoiding 17th St., is as follows:

Take Broadway North to LEFT on Fifth Avenue
LEFT on Blackstock
Electric Ballroom is on Blackstock, after you cross Western, beside Braden's Furniture.

ALSO

DOORS OPEN AT 8 PM!

Thanks!

If you're coming from the West on I-40, you should be able to exit at 17th St. Go straight across 17th. Then a right onto Blackstock just before Western Ave.

This way will have more traffic on it the closer to the end of game, but should be fine before 10.

Aside from a bit of assholishness from one of the guests - something that I obviously don't consider to be the fault of the hosts / hostesses of the event - it rocked, and it rocked hard.

I liked the venue, the music, and - of course - the drinks. :D

The best feedback I can give on my own behalf, however, is simply: Do. It. Again.

If you do, I'll be there. And I'm rather sure that I'm not alone in this.

Oh thats why Caustic's set didn't suck...

Caustic does play the rare gem or two, but this time he pulled out a bunch of stops, and people danced....

It kicked, can't wait til the next one...
