Cemetery Man - AKA - Dellamorte Dellamore. One of the absolute best zombie movies ever made. Funny and gorgeous. Cannot believe that this is only just now available on US region DVD.

i also just found out today that Criterion is releasing Equinox next week! you remember Equinox don't you? The bad but good backyard horror / stop motion animation crap fest that scared you silly when you were 10 and you haven't seen it since but still have nightmares about occasionally and did it really star that guy from WKRP?

Needless to say, I can't wait for this one :-)

Bootleg goodies from Adventurecon:

Takashi Miike"s "Masters of Horror" film - "Imprint". The missing 13th episode which did not air on Showtime, and I can see why. If your familiar with Miike's work, I'm sure you can figure it out. This one is just as sick as any of his other work.

and:

"Dnevnoy dozor" aka "Daywatch" aka "Nightwatch 2". English subtitles.... which I haven't watched as I have yet to see Nightwatch...

i almost bought that daywatch, love to have a copy...i'll make nightwatch for you(and calvaire which i keep forgetting about),fun shit...got hayley mills to sign my twisted nerve(great underrated thriller) poster there, freaked her out a tad that anyone knew of that flick,or that i shared the name of her "suitor" in the film...hermann did the music, tarantino used it in kill bill...

ahhhh....imprint,quite the nasty number isn't it?...love the fingernail /gum torture scene(up there w/ ichi's and audition)and the mother's profession...no way "holywood" touches that subject matter...

impint is my favorite of the series along w/ carpenter's,gordon's,& argento's(need to see sick girl)...good to see billy drago again, i like that freak...here's some trailers for imprint...

http://www.twitchfilm.net/archives/006149.html

not all of miike's film shock(especially some of his earlier work),but man the ones that do...i think he's the most versatile director in film today...he's one guy i actually look foward to his work everytime...

Ooooo..Imprint...Me wanna see this now. How's the transfer? This should be coming out on DVD for the Masters of Horror series, even though they failed to air it.

Miike is so cool. For some fairly not-shocking yet great films of his, check out Happiness of the Katakuris, Zebraman, and Gozu (OK, that last one does have a few shocking moments.) Has anyone seen his Yokai Monsters yet?

Picking up Death Trance and Electric Dragon 8000v (if I can find it) this afternoon

The transfer is DVD quality, although aspect ratio was off on my 51' widescreen HDTV and there were black bars on the left and right of the screen, as well as the word "Bravo" (the channel maybe?) at the top of the screen. Outside of that it's a good transfer.
The acting was not that great, although this is Miike's first English language film, I suppose that can be overlooked. But yeah, it's gruesome, and in a way you don't really realize how f'ed up it is until it sticks with you after you watch it. Like...
bloody aborted fetuses in a bucket thrown in the river. :-x
Anyway, you get it.
I'm sure it will probably have a DVD release in the states, but Showtime wouldn't air it.

Bought this on EBay and should be getting it in the mail in a couple of days. Not sure how the quality will be since it's never seen a commercial release. I've been trying to track down a copy for years.

I also would have had an original R1 studio release of "Rawhead Rex" which is out of print, if someone hadn't outbid me at the very last second.
