How do you enable yourself to receive mail through the forum system (not by using personal email address)?
it's probably right in front of my eyes...

you don't have to enable it. that button at the bottom of the post marked pm is the private message button.

Yeah, I understand the private message thing..got that...but when you go to "Memberlist" some people have the little email button and some do not...I clicked it, assuming it would be their private email (which I chose not to share) but it is a sort of forum mail...or seems to be...but I am techno-logically challenged....

Right. Well, as you've figured out, the email button sends an actual email, and the pm button sends a private message via the forum's built-in message system.

For a while it wouldn't let me stay logged in and I kept getting "invalid_session" when I tried to post...
