What brand of palm pilot do you feel works best with a Mac?

I use my Palm Zire with my iBook just fine. I guess it really depends what OS you are using....it works great for me in OS X, I haven't tried it in OS 9 though.

Even works in the developer's release of OS X 10.3 I have.

i did some palm developing at the beginning of the summer and the CDK's i had said some of the palm OS versions need patches to run correctly on OS 9......
esp the newer palm operating system upgrades that are made with tools for OS X may have issues on OS 9.....
as long as the version of the palm operating system is current, it shouldnt have any issues on OS X........
but theres patches for every palm model to assist with your operating system, be it windoze or any mac OS.......its just not all of them function correctly
but all in all palm is really mac friendly......

I can't really say much about any of the new ones...

My ancient IIIxe works fine with 9 or X, though.
