a great movie about the roots of punk and rave.
a fun movie about suicide, adultery, and the downward spiral of factory records.
i might have also liked it because i found a really smooth 107 proof bourbon that totally kicked my ass (old Weller just in case you want your ass kicked)
also fun seeing shirley henderson (moaning myrtle) get nailed in a bathroom insead of haunting one

Yeah I got to see this one this weekend. Very much worth the rental. The whole layout of the movie rocked.. monty python meets british documentary. If you like punk music (see the first sex pistol show ever) new wave/80's music, (see the story of Joy Division/New Order) or rave (see its birth) or if you just a DJ (the last part of the film will rock DJs), then this movie is a must. There are alot of little treats Cameo's, a dwarf washing an elephant, a $30,000 table. A freind had to point out "Moaning Mertle" I missed it, and supossedly (not confirmed) the Major from 28 days is in this one. It might have been nice to try it with 107 proof burbon but even without it, this is a movie worth seeing.

The actor playing Ian Curtis in this is amazing. I wanted to see this because of the Joy Division inclusino and I was not let down...Chilling. I had not heard of Happy Mondays before, but they seemed like a right fun bunch of a-holes. Now if we could just get the Industrial Records / Throbbing Gristle / Psychic TV story.
