Are there any individuals that do any type of throwing, or pottery making? I am having a hell of a time with figuring out how to center my clay on the wheel. Just wondering if anybody else has any tricks for centering the clay?

I don't make pots I tend to break them, however my better half does she just graduated form graduate school. Here is what she says.
http://www.mudflat.org/classes/ripley-img.htm
Put one hand on top of the clay and one hand goes on the side.
The arm attached to the hand that is on the side of the clay, you'll need to put that elbow into your hip.
Now lean into it and watch your hands don't let the clay push your hands around. You control the clay like a Goth should lol.
Monica states that yu should try to use your hip as much as possible and not your strength or you might wear yourself out.
Good luck and whip that clay into shape lol

I used to date a girl who threw. I never learned how, and whenever I watched her do it, I was way to into watching *her* to study her technique. She threw *really* wet. There's just somethin' about watching a hot girl being incredibly creative *and* getting covered in mud....
