*clueless* but sorry guys, what is sanctus? i've heard about it, but unfortunately the venue line up over here blows, so i can't get to it (i'm only 17)... can someone tell me what it is so i can go next year? is it live band or dj? (live band is better)... are there any places to see a live band? are there any live goth bands in knoxville? please, if possible... inform the baby...

Sanctus is the end-all be-all of goth parties, with our DJ's Bone, Arkady, and Michael Xi, with occasional guests. It happens once a month and is unfortunately for you, 18+ to get in. Almost every Sanctus I have been to has been one of the best experiences in my life. When you can, go and enjoy.
As for live bands, last month we had Second Skin play at Ivey's before it closed down. It totally rocked. The KGB has plans to bring another great band to Knoxville, Hungry Lucy. So keep your eyes posted...

I would have come if you had stayed a Virgo, but now I'm just afraid I wouldn't be able to hold myself back from your Libra ways. *sigh* You're just too airy for this earth girl Mikey.
By the way....are ya naked?

I'm looking forward to this. My biggest question, being the lush that i am, is about drinks at Blue Cats. Do they have a full bar? Do they serve their drinks in glass (If you have ever been handed a martinin in a plastic cup before, you will not be laughing at this question)? I understand they are expensive - I assume 8 bones for a mixed drink, 4 for a beer? Cash only bar or can I run up a huge tab for all the shots and drinks I buy you nice people?

They do have a full bar and they take plastic.
They also have real glasses, but I'm not sure to what extent. I usually just drink wine.
Good questions if you've never been before.
Sanctus is a very friendly place. You can sit in a corner by yourself, or get up and dance. Overall, just have fun. No one will really bother you. You can always tell them to go away.

BlueCats, the venue where Sanctus is held is basically split up into various sections. Indoors, we have the upstairs bar/lounge area, downstairs is the dance floor with various plush seats. Outside is a huge patio area with lots of dark nooks and crannies to hide oneself if needed.
As for what to expect, if you decide to say hi to us, we don't bite, unless you want us to
Actually we are pretty friendly and easygoing, some of us are even reformed antisocialists
Expect good conversation, great music, wonderful dancing, and a great time...

Also, a number of people go out after Sanctus to one all night diner or another to continue the comraderie into the early morning hours if you are up for such things....Its a beautiful scene with room for just about everyone.
And don't forget 4620 club before Sanctus for early socializing...kind of an appetizer social...

If you live near there, I can give you a ride. I live in Greentree. Then, you'd have a little more money for drinking.
But, we can discuss that at 4620.
