It's that time of year again! That's right, Greek Fest time!
The kids & I really enjoy it. Food, wine, dancers, light shopping, & touring that GORGEOUS church. You can park at the shopping center down the road & either walk or take their shuttle bus.
I believe the dates are the 17th & 18th of October. We'll be trying it that Saturday, the 18th. Hope to see some of you there!

The Greek Orthodox Church (St. George's isn't it?) is located on Kingston Pike, not too long after Cumberland Avenue miraculously changes into it.
Basically, start going west on the strip (from UT going towards west Knox). You'll pass all the really cool, old multimillion dollar homes on that beginning stretch of Kingston Pike & eventually will see the church & GOBS of people on the left side of the road.
Go just abit further & you'll see a shopping center on the right (where Gemstone used to be & Trumps long ago & far away).
You can park in there or in the shopping center behind it, & catch one of the buses over to the church. They run about every 15 or 20 minutes, I guess.
There's a cover charge to get in... maybe $5 or so. They also have a drawing every year where the winner get a trip to Greece.

We've only made it out to one Greek Fest, about five years ago, but we loved it. Wish we could go this time, but work and finances wont allow.
I liked the flamed cheese best....I think it was called Kasseri, or something like that....man, you gotta love a festival that involves drinking, dancing, and setting cheese on fire.
