- The Gregori (Watchers) -
In my own world
Where the fires burn fierce
The waters run deep and dark
The wind blows from no beginning to no end
And the earth trembles in anticipation
The spirit free but tied to its need
What I see is beyond my grasp
Beyond even the furthest imaginings
Where the stars swirl and form
The vast expanse of dark emptiness
Engulfed by the flare and conflagration
Joining, merging, becoming one
A pattern of light
Which is the glint in her eye
A doorway to the unknown
Where forbidden footsteps echo
In the chambers of my heart
And the places I do not walk
Become the paradise I will never know
Magic builds, engulfs my being
Swirling, growing, permeating my soul
To be released in a tidal wave
The sum of my passions unfulfilled
The greatest part of my being
Forever unknown by another
The long journey taken
But the destination unreached
Fortitude left untested
The possibilities dry as dust
Blown in a devil
The energy spent in circles and spirals
Yields nothing, becomes only itself
An identity unrecognized
Forever unreachable
For the gulf of space
Is empty between the stars
And the greatest feelings not enough to fill it
Distance is the ogre
Time the mystic curse
Running its course through manifestation
Forever the wanderer of the ages
Between the worlds
Reaching out, emotion the whirlwind
Perpetuating the illusion of being
Watching
Longing for the observed to become the observer
Defining futility in the act of desire
Becoming only what I am not
