Does anyone like him? I think he's an amazing musician. Besides his regular albums I think the Star Trek parody album he did called "Banned on Vulcan" is really funny.

Any opinions?

There are many many fans about. Some went to see him in Nashville not long ago.

becuase his work comes nowhere near the bar of integrity projekt used to uphold when they delt closely with cold meat industry
all of the works they released during those time periods were much stronger and much much more entertaining
and allthough i think he probably does hold his place in this industry
i've never figured out why it was with projekt
considering their previous efforts

Interesting. I did not know that Projekt worked closely with CMI. Never much a fan for any of the Projekt bands, but CMI is another story altogether. Did they "share" any artists so to speak or were they sister labels?

On the topic of Voltaire, he's OK. I think he had some very well done tongue in cheek songs over the years. Nothing wrong with a little humor. Sometimes we all tend to take ourselves too seriously.

The first time I saw him perform was great. He's a great performer, and very entertaining.

I wish I had his talent. Stop motion animation, music, comics, plus other shit.....how does he do it all?

He also has the cutest little boy.

And, his new girlfriend is hot. Especially dressed up as Chi-Chian.

He's very down to earth and friendly. Most people have a crush on him after meeting him

I love Voltaire... I've been listening to him for a while now (Devil's Bris is in my CD player right now). Can't wait to see him perform one day.

projekt didnt really share artists with cmi
however
they did a great portion of american distro for them
and have put out Ordo Equitum Solis which if i'm not mistaken they put things out on cmi as well
also if i'm not mistaken have had some cmi guests at projekt fests

they stopped they're relations with cmi a while back
i guess this is since cmi continues to put out quality dark ambient death industrial
and
power electronics
and projekt has opened up to a much wider market
with stuff like voltaire and android lust
fans of these bands (from a marketing aspect not an individual one, theres allways exceptions to the rules) probably aren't going to understand

I had no idea that Shinjuku Thief did anything for Projekt. Most of what I have is all for Doroboro, an Ausie label. I'm a huge fan, especially of the Witch Hammer Trilogy. Was their latest, Medea, put out on Projekt? OES is nice, but there are so many World Serpent bands that do it better. I've heard Allo Die and do like them quite a bit.

CMI also releases Sephiroth, an amazing artist, from Sweeden I beleive, who has material in a similar vein, but it almost seems more tribal/primal. Very cool. He also records under the name Ulf Soderburgh. All sounds very similar and unless you really like it, one will probably do you. I am that way with BDN. I have one release and enjoy it, but could not get into any others I piced up. The sound was just too similar, and it is very potent stuff. Still, better than Merzbow MZ.412 is

Just to keep on topic, Banned on Vulcan is too cheesey to be amusing, but some earlier stuff like Ex Lovers Lovers, I enjoyed the dark tongue in cheek. Also, I'm a sucker for hard strings (Kronos Quartet, Rasputina, Andrew Bird, Apocalyptica).

The Kronos Quartet is one of my favorites also.

I agree with you completly on that. I love Voltaire, i don't ahve much of his stuff.... i'm hoping to change that very soon.
