Knoxville is proud to welcome Luminal Records recording artists THE PRIDS ( from Portland ). See reviews below. Check out some MPEG tunes @ http://www.theprids.com and listen for their hits “ Human Astronomy “ and "Persona Solara" now playing on KFAR and WUTK . You’ll also be treated to the debut of a new local goth band, CHELSEA HORROR . Fronted by Henry Gibson, they stole the show this Halloween as Iggy & the Stooges and we expect them to try it again. Also performing will be local comedian JAZZ-E . Don’t miss it!

Their sound is haunting, atmospheric, and not the least bit cliché---sort of like Ultravox with a krautrock chaser, The Jesus and Mary Chain with a hush. The lush layers in their sonic, slightly morbid abyss might tempt folks to call these Portland Oregonians goth. But they're more. The Prids are dreamy yet powerful to the point of pulverization."
