Why? Because the Art Scene in Knoxville is highly stratified. People here are cliquish, and too protective of their own position to be forming a real community.

Look at all the crap that flew about getting this forum, and fights started AFTER the forum was launched - a few people were far more interested in taking out personal dislikes on other people than in contributing or supporting a forum for artists of all levels on KG. So much shit flew that it almost killed the forum - which I truly believe was the intent.

Knoxville in general tends to be that way - so I guess people on KG being a product of their environment shouldn't be a big surprise.

Here it is months later, and the Art Forum is barely limping along...
When it really could have been a wonderful thing.
Dammit.

It'z not just a Knoxville thing... happenz most placez... Hell, the competitive bs at SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) waz truly sickening... I spent most ov my time there trying 2 ignore it while doing my own thing, but occasionally, I just had 2 rag on all ov thoze playing superior ...

They're called art fags. I cnat get an art job to save my life because of people like that. so I work at the ACN.....

I can sooo relate! I don't do the brown-nose thing & that seemz 2 b the main prerequisite 4 most art jobz.
