I miss you on dark days
The rain falling softer and less saline than tears
When the moon highlights our race
I am beside myself in silence
Shivering cold through warm layers
Turn, turn your pages
I spelled out your name in pencil lines
Everything dies in stages
With a stare like candle burn
I can actually see the wind
She is screaming through the brokenness
And throwing up her hands
I could leave this setting
Wandering barefoot down thundered streets
And gashing the earth
With borrowed talons.
The rain falling softer and less saline than tears
When the moon highlights our race
I am beside myself in silence
Shivering cold through warm layers
Turn, turn your pages
I spelled out your name in pencil lines
Everything dies in stages
With a stare like candle burn
I can actually see the wind
She is screaming through the brokenness
And throwing up her hands
I could leave this setting
Wandering barefoot down thundered streets
And gashing the earth
With borrowed talons.
