Title? Review? Give a dog a bone here! I may have to pick this up on the way home from work, but I'd like to hear an opinion first. Fantomas are my least favorite of his projects, although the movie themed album was outstanding.

So I guess being the devoted anything that Mike Patton does is amazing, person that I am...I really didn't expect a response to my post. I expected all who were interested to just buy the cd! I think it's the best one yet. I admit I don't like that all 70 minutes are on one track. He is as usual, brilliant. Thanks for your time now go buy the album!!

Thanks Jinn! I understand where you are coming from, but that being said, I don't think I will be picking this on up blind. Some of my favorite artists are those who dabble in the experiemental, and the results are not always appealing. I've bought releases by bands I'm normally completely devoted to - Melvins, Nurse With Wound, Current 93, Coil - that I later wish I had heard first. 1 70 minute track is a red flag that tells me this is probably not going to go in a direction I like.
The Patton projects I do like are: Mr. Bungle of course, and his work with John Zorn as Naked City. I think that the Naked City recordings were done live on a tour with Patton replacing the vocals of Yamazuka Eye (SP?). I don't think anyone else could handle those vocal stylings. I've looked for a release of this, but have had no luck. Any info you might have on this would be much appreciated! Tomahawk and Loveage are OK too, but that's just fun music.

this album is better.
But, if this Fantomas isn't to yer liking....Wait until October for the NEW one!!!!!!
Quick run down of the new album.......black/white era scifi, cool zombie beatniks, rooms of smoke and cinder, breaking and entering, touching yourself in public, destruction.
Yeah...that's about right.
I still say that Patton should get the Peeping Tom project that he has been promising us off the ground....But he is busy man and all.
Anyone heard the new Secret Chief's album...cos Trey Spurence is awsome within his own right.
Rumour has it....Fantomas will be touring with Bjork this winter. Not much touring right now...next release.
Some shows now on the East coast with Melt Banana.

Interesting... I had no idea that there was a new Secret Chiefs. I do want that. Doesn't Spence have another band? Something like Buck Fever? Also, were you describing the current new Fantomas release or was that a description of what their next release will be like...Cause that sounded pretty good.
