Zeo was telling me about this at Sanctus. It looks very cool if you are in to horror flicks.

Hurm... zombies wandering the halls of the local mall....
Are you sure this isn't a reality TV show gone to big screen? ;-)

Actually I'm sorta looking forward to this one

So far this flick looks good. But,I am approaching it with alot of negative feedback, since I loved the first one so much.

This could be cool because it is a reimagining and not a direct remake. The people involved are all great fans of the original and say they are not out usurp the throne, but to just make a killer zombie film. It all comes down to the characters though.

Will there be anyone in this film that I will care about as much as I did Peter and Roger? Probably not. Even Frannie and Flyboy held my interest and concern. That is what makes a good film, not the special effects. Sure, the zombies looked better in Day of the Dead, but the characters (except for Bub, Bub rules) were crap. I'm looking forward to this only as a fun horror film. If the story and characters elevate to the level of the original, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Dawn of the Dead............. Lunch

you guys are probably going to hate me for this rant, but considering i am a huge zombie film fan. Ignore be being anal if you wish.

i am disgusted that this film has been made. the original Dawn of the Dead stands by its self, arguably one of the best zombie movies ever made.

*spoiler*
the "new" ideas for this movie seemed terribly unbelievable to me. OK, so maybe zombies aren't terribly believable either. but the idea of sending dogs across the street from the mall to get specific ammunition for weapons is franky retarded. in the romero universe of zombies (night of the living dead, dawn of the dead, day of the dead) only humans are affected. but in this abomination of a remake dogs and other animals are affected.
*end spoiler*

the point to this remake as i had read was to re do the film with a younger cast and some crap about it being fresh. there is no point in ruining a grate movie.

of course this is coming from a Romero, and zombie genre fan. so of course I'm going to be anal about this.

anyway, I'm boycotting the movie. i think it deserves to make as much in the box-office as land before time 7.

The remake of Night of the Living dead, which was done by tom Savini (makeup and effects guy on original dawn, and day of the dead) , served the purpose of retaining the copy right for the film.

after 25 years, movie and music become an "art form" if they aren't published again, so they become fair game. thats why there are always greatest hits of bands long sense dead coming out every so often.

this film just takes advantage of that, and is some douchebag's shot at wowing people with something isn't theirs.
