NaTION: (Prologue)

It’s been twenty-six years since my rebirth. Embraced into a servitude of torture for what
they created. I was the whip & whipping boy. Now I am the destruction, & salvation.
Now, my only name is Lucius, & I am the end.
Since mankind was cast out of Eden, we where a part of humanity. From the blood
& union of Caine, our father, & Lilith, our mother, the first vampire was born. His name
was Lycian, & from him, all vampires were spawned. With every embrace, each
generation from Lycian, the blood gets weaker. Each step becoming less powerful than the
last, & this, is what it has created. The thin-bloods.
Twenty-six years ago, the first thin-blood was embraced. Never to be destroyed
by the sun. Capable of quenching the thirsts of the beast that he had become, without the
blood of mortal flesh. Not to be threatened off by the fiery terror. A step between the
immortal prowess of vampiric existence, & the sacrificed capabilities of their kindred
mortals.
Of course, this does come with some difficulties. They could not withstand the
assaults that their true vampiric brethren could. Their vampiric abilities, weakened as was
their blood. They no longer shared any physical characteristics of vampirism, other than
the fangs. For these reasons, they where treated as lesser creatures, & taken as slaves.
Ostracized, & punished for what they had been cursed with.
Twenty-six years since my rebirth as the first thin-blood. Twenty-three since my
betrayal of the Anarchrynoa, & thirteen years since the war began.

Telena crossed her arms as the fire roared through the building across the street.
The screams of the mortals, women & children mostly, echoed down the street. Horrid
creatures scurrying past windows, as they made their retreat. Shadows wrapping around
the concrete monolith, like snakes through grass.
‘Parasitic fucks’ Telena thought, as an arm of sentient darkness held a small child
up as a human shield. ‘The humans have to die too, they’re tainted.’ she told herself to
loosen the knot in her stomach. ‘They are too much like them.’
‘Eight years of police service for the LAPD, & what do I use it for? To kill
monsters, most people think don’t exist. I guess that it’s better that they don’t know.’
Staring through the window, her only words of sentiment are “Poor kid” as the .45 caliber
bullets rip through his chest. ‘At least it was quick.’
