The Bush administration is effectively censoring TV for hearing impaired people by refusing to fund close-captioning for shows that it doesn't deem "appropriate".

There are certain things that amaze me about the American system of government, and what "free" people will put up with from said government.

At least in third world countries, you know you are being fucked, the government will tell you as much, but ....well, the act of glossing over is far worse.

i think if we are going to regulate what shows or channels get close captioning we might as well not allow them to have audio either. at least then everyone is on the same page.
