I believe this one was mentioned several times in other posts but only in passing and I think it should get its oun thread.
Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) gives and example of why anime is great. Animation used to tell good stories (no giant robots or raping schoolgirls in these).
The DVD is made up of three short stories
1. Magnetic Rose (Alien (they actually use Soundfx from the movie) meets Ghost Ship meets Madame Butterfly) Its a fable about the aspect of living with on in Memories
2. Stink Bomb (Andromada syndrom meets your worst BO nightmare) this one is suppose to be a comedy I believe, One of the interesting aspects to this story is the depiction of the Americans. Also the art work of the Japanesse country side is amazing.
3. Cannon Fodder (err a long stretch might be to say its simmilar to a Python Abserd (sp) scetch.) It explores the concept of Society and Soldier from several angles (and ofcourse with a Asian twist to it)
Each one by its self is great and all three are VERY Much worth the rent.
