Hot Topic recruiting for Knoxville Center Mall store

As I'm sure some of you know, the new store in Knoxville Center (the mall formerly known as East Towne) is opening the first week of May...about one year to the day after the store I work in opened.

Anyways, interviews for management have already taken place, but my manager and possibly a manager from Chattanooga will be holding interviews for sales associates on Tuesday the 20th around noon. I'm assuming they'll be in the food court.

Go by, grab an application and see if you can get an interview. Also, you'll have to do a phone type character test thing...

You have to be at least 16, and I'd say that prior retail experience is a plus. Hot Topic doesn't pay extremely high, but there are lots of perks, such as a 40 percent discount on all merchandise except music and video which is a 20 percent discount. Concert reimbursement is a plus too....

It's a fun job, plus you get to have piercings and whatever color hair you want and sometimes, when they aren't playing emo crap, you can hear some good music while working...

Don't even list me as a reference if you don't know me. And if you do, ask me first, because if my manager asks me about you I'll tell her if I have no clue who you are...

HAHA Man this is really tempting, but seeing as how I have a smaart mouth I can see my pink slip inducing comments now......

You are wearing blue birds and nautical stars WHY????

Oh red? how original?

YOU NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER THE CURE OR BAUHAUS!!!!

hrmmm yes I guess rainbow brite and the care bears might be raver!

bandage punk pants......say that to yourself and realize how strange those words are fused together.......punks....and bondage.......

Wow......you look like the picture of EVERY Emo band I have ever seen.

The customer is always right....
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS AN ASSHOLE

Actually I would just really be jealous of whoever got the job.......wish I could.

Hot Topic employees also get the discount at TORRID. I spend more at TORRID than I do at HT....

REALLY! that is fascinating. i would hate to drive all the way to east town, though. i live in OR.

but then again, if i could do it just on the weekends, it could work. i work m-f 4-12am and i end up staying later than that alot. so weekdays are defintely out. what do you think the odds of me being able to work only sat/sun/both? thats all i could do.

if there were openings at the WT store, that would fabulous. i could even do week days there because it soooooooo much closer to where i work and home. i could arrange to go straight from one to the other. i could use a prt time job.

please do keep me/us posted. i'm definitely going to look into it. i wouldn't put you down as a refference considering we have only met once or twice. i might put kitty down though, i'll have to ask her.

thanks! :D

Well, some of the sales associates at torrid are looking to move to the new store, so their could be some openings...however, they are getting kinda odd with the dress code there...like no band tshirts, no flip flops, etc. Nazi's.

this may be a dumb question, but what exactly is appropriate to wear to an interview for hot topic?

As tempting as it might be, as a weekend moneygrubbing jaunt... one would have to deal with all of the mallrats.

Ick.
