Ok ... so none of those exist; but say you were going to a water park in the area; which would you choose: Ogle's or Dollywood Splash Country?
(I think we can assume WetLands in Jonesborough is not in the running)

Or is Ogle's even still open? Someone told me they thought it closed down because of DW Splash Country.
I haven't been down there in maybe two years.

Chattanooga is a ways off from Johnson City. I might as well go to White Water in Atlanta if I'm going down that far (I kinda half live in Atlanta at the moment - and half in JC)
And that sucks that Ogle's got shut down. Competition is good. Too bad they couldn't really compete with Dollywood.

We did a "goths invade Dollywood Splash Country" a couple of summers ago...
It was fun...
needless to say we avoided getting burned.
Bone said we all should use spf 1000..
either way, Splash Country was fun...

I'm not sure why goths are supposed to behave and conform to a set of rigid stereotypes. Water parks are fun. How is fun not goth? Are we really supposed to sit around, not talk to anyone, and be depressed all of the time?. I just can't see the point in that.
Nothing ungoth about going to a water park. As long as one wears a good glob of sunscreen. And a gothic water park would just be so awesome (yet completely commerically infeasible)!

again with the stereotypes., who says a goth has to be pale??

No one. But as for me, I don't like tans and I burn easily. I wasn't really sure why BDC thought that it was "ungoth", however, and I am merely suggesting that if it is because everyone will get a tan - then there's an easy remedy. But, you're right, no reason a goth can't have a tan. Though, it is rare admittedly. And I personally have never met a tanned goth.
At least for me, the reason I am kinda pale has nothing to do with "gothness" and everything to do with the fact that I got second degree burns from being out in the sun when I was 13 at a water park and I have always worn like SPF 45 since then. Plus, I don't particularly find tans to be so visually pleasing as to be worth the time it requires to get a decent one.
Though, honestly, everyone should wear gobs of sunscreen regardless, because being exposed to the sun for several hours is just a good way to get sunburned (and hence, not a good tan) or even skin cancer if done often enough.

Just out of curiosity, what type of work requires a tan?
Or did you mean that's he tanned from work?

i wear spf 30 so i dont burn, because i burn easily and it hurts. i put spf 50 on my children for the same reason. both grandfathers had skin cancer lesions removed, so i am extra careful, but if i didnt burn, id probably be a little tan. i prefer to look healthy, but not leather-like.
i read an article, that in healthy adults anything over spf 30 is a waste of money and unneeded chemicals put on your body.
i think it s matter of personal preferance. if the water park thing pans out and we're availble we would be interested.

You wouldn't happen to remember where that article is, would you? I'd like to read it.
I really don't much about the "SPFs"; I just know I don't want to experience the pure misery of second degree burns again so I have always used the strongest sunscreen I could find.
Interesting enough, I actually have beat the recorded "record" in the Guinness book for longest anyone has gone without sleep as a result of those burns. I did not sleep for 10 days because of the severe pain.

When I worked as a dancer I made more money with a tan than without. And when I wore the goth oufits, more people were scared of me, so I changed my look a little to help my money. I have a lot of tastes that lean more towards a gothic lifestyle, but I still like pink & I have a tan, damnit! You don't have to look the part 24/7. People can like me for who I am, not by the color of my skin or clothes. And hell, I'm all for a day at the water park, cuz well, I like to have fun, too! So there!
