Since the first thread started out talking about how great June Sanctus was turned into another topic, this thread is for those who want to share their constructive comments about June's Sanctus.

The renovations to Blue Cats are an overall plus because they included new lights, speakers and other sound system improvements. The music sounded better than ever before. The fidelity is changed for the better and loud isn't so painful any more. The bass was coherent and clean, so props. Thank you Jason for the great upgrades. Blue Cats made the right choice by hiring you. The other renovations, like the floors (not the best choice for color and pattern, but follows their obvious motif) and restrooms make the venue and event better as well.

As for the beach on the patio… "Goths in Paradise!" is a b-movie where people get sand in their boots, overheat, burn their pale skin and apply sunscreen to their trench coats, leather and vinyl. Do you know what salt water does to styled hair?! It's been suggested that the flashing green palm tree is a signal to the aliens from the planet Floridan to land in the patio. I'm all for the fountains and gardens, though. Someone tell me if the phone booth is still there. The brain cells which encoded those observations have been mercilessly executed. Overall, the patio is better than it was before. No other mention will be made of the outdoor wall paintings.

I certainly won't let anyone who attends ruin my good time, so tell us all about your good times last weekend at Knoxville's premier gothic event.

I'm reposting this from the closed thread because I know there is someone who will read it all the way through and have something to say. For those of you who haven't read it yet, I apologize in advance.

When we journey through the layers we bring with us that which clings as we pass through. The effects we leave behind are often purposeful interference shaped by our choices. What a difference in perception just one year makes. Consider how great the misperception when frivolity is mistaken for genuity; how impression becomes opinion and opinion is substituted for fact. Now turn around and consider the real impact we all have on one another through our actions. Affinity leads to association and by way of relation yields connection, often dependence and what is fated to be consanguinity or destined to be alliance. One may see the drop enter the ocean while another sees the ocean enter the drop; bringing the larger, outside world inside cannot help but be an extreme, expansive ordeal. Whether rapid growth or violent detonation results is dependent on the ability to balance the forces and forms and release that which cannot be balanced. Development is the difference between nothing fading away and every day fading away. The choices are yours to make; what's important is understanding those choices. What marvelous diversity and creativity that composes a scene so splendid and phenomenal! What critical consequences result from that chaotic interplay! A glass is raised, a hand is extended, a grasp exchanged, words spoken and the indelible record is written on the indestructible page of time. And so one cycle ends and another begins. Going over the same ground again with new perceptions is often more valuable than striking out over new ground. Here's to many more years of valuable experiences with KG. Long live Sanctus!

In retrospect, I think the sound was A LOT better. Good job Jason!

But I cannot, for the life of me, compliment the decor.

Eww.

I was in no way approving of the tropical beach theme inside or outside. This too shall pass.

I see the future for the giant neon palm tree in the very front, my friends, & it is not good... not good at all.

I really enjoyed several of the new tunes we were offered this month. I'm not sure what they were or who did them, but they kept me dancing! :D

It was great to see Lovechild out there dancing around. Motherhood becomes you, dear!

I'll see what I can do to get the tree turned off next month. I had to look at it all night.

The Blue Cats guys were so happy about it that I didn't want to say anything about it - but it's obvious that you guys hate it as much as I do.

Actually, I like the new decor. Start serving singapore slings and big fruity drinks in big bowls with big straws and umbrellas and complete the picture already! OK, the tree was a bit much, but I do like the new carpet and the interior. Makes me want to break out the black socks and sandles...July Sanctus - Tiki of Death!

Something about that post just made me visualize everyone at Sanctus carrying around fishbowl margaritas.

OH I LOOOOOOOOOVED the neon tree. But we all know I have ADD so I like bright shineys sparkley things......(yeah sorry I had to touch your dress Buttercup, that too fancied my shiney problem)

I am working on postin the pictures but we had a lot of problems with our connection last night, and I was too tired when I came home sunday.....they will be up by tonight though.....you all looked great

I had a wonderful time. There were so amny of you there, i was only able to dance once! Gregory it was wonderful to talk to you, we must sit down sometime and exchange books! I fancied your friend Tim too......especially since he came bearing gifts! :)

Thank you to everyone who did not protest my camera and the taking of their picture.....to everyone I missed....I get you next time!

Wonderful Sanctus.........Hey I quite like the Tiki of the dead theme.....we should look into that! We could wear masks......the "monkeys" could come as....well monkeys....fishbowl margerita's , Hell I'm there!

The only thing that pissed me off is the ficton bouncers and the giant chips on their shoulders. When I am dancing I try to stay out of the other dancers way and close to the stage. A bald gorilla pushing me out of his way when there is 2 feet of open space around me seems a little dumb and uncalled for unless you are trying to pit with me and then just don't be an ass.

This agreed. With Mezcal on the side.
I like tree as well. All it needs is big plastic coconuts and monkeys that squirt Malibu rum out of them onto people's faces as they walk by.
