• Priest, Nun Convicted After 'Sex Act' in Car

BLANTYRE, Malawi (Reuters) - A Malawian court convicted a Catholic priest and a nun of disorderly conduct Thursday after they were caught engaged in a sexual act in a parked car with tinted windows.

The Malawian priest, 43, and the 26-year-old nun from neighboring Zambia spent the night in police cells after being caught in the act Wednesday, police said.

A court in the capital Lilongwe handed down suspended jail sentences of six months with hard labor after the pair pleaded guilty to charges of idleness and disorderly conduct.

"These people were caught in a sex act," Assistant Superintendent Kelvin Maigwa told Reuters.

Officials in the Roman Catholic Church, whose priests are barred from sex or marriage, declined to comment.

Passers by alerted police at Lilongwe International Airport after the parked Toyota Corolla, which had tinted windows, began shaking in what police described as "a funny manner."

There is a bumper sticker which says it all:

"Abstinence makes the church grow fondlers."

This issue is to our time, what Galileo and the solar system was to the Catholic Church of the 1500's. It's been proven that denying someone a sexual outlet for the duration of their lives only guarantees the buildup of sexual frustration, which is then usually taken out on some poor defenseless child. Sooner or later, the Catholic Church is going to have to join the 21st Century, and allow their priests to have a little fun, for cryin' out loud!

As for the priest and nun getting caught on video: Bravo to them! At least they weren't molesting any kids, unlike others in their church! My only issue with that is, I wouldn't be doing it in a public place where people could see ... but then again, does not the Bible say (in the book of Genesis) "be fruitful and multiply"?

Of all the things we've been told to do or not do, that one we got right. Consider it done - now we need to turn the earth into a garden so that we can actually feed all these people. Six billion and counting, isn't it?
