I won't be leaving for NOLA until the following Thursday, so I will most likely be there providing work is caught up.

We are having a bit of difficulty with finding a 50-60 lb. pig that has already been slaugtered and de-gutted. Most places only sell full grown, mature hogs.....400+ lbs! If anyone knows of where we can score one of these small, tasty morsels, PLEASE let me know asap! Time is drawing short!

Have you had any luck finding a pig of the right size yet? I know a woman whose husband is a meat cutter.. Apparently he can fully debone a cow in an hour.. I could try asking her, she's quite the little goth herself, if she knows where you might find an appropriate sacrifice.

I have a feeling this may not go down due to LadyIvanna's accident.

It's us who should be doing for them, anyway. We all just want them both to be well again. Poor dears!

I got the information from my friend at work. She says the best options for obtaining a pig are Swaggerty's, out in Seveirville, or Lay's.
Note, none of that makes a blessed bit of sense to me, as I'm a transplant and all, but I'll do some research when I get home, and see if I can't figure it out, with appropriate contact information, web links, and pricing info.

We have checked with Swaggerty & Lays....they deal with full grown hogs....as in, 400 lbs. Waaaaayyyy too much for what we want. Anyway, as the S/seekers said, due to ovious circumstances, the hog roast is going to have to be postponed. When we are able to do it, we will be sure to let everyone know.

yes the hog roast is cancelled, but due to popular demand we will be having a smaller gathering here at the house, family friendly - it will be byoe (bring your own meat, chair, drink - or everything) this is nothing more than friendly gathering, we are going to provide the location, grill , company and music - the rest is up to you
we have moved so dont go to the old house and expect to find us
hope to see a few of you there
