Sadly enough...Athens gets it every year...for all of october. Fri/sat night shows...

and its usually completely dead.

of course it could be the slight smell of the theater...or the fac they don't advertise at all....personally, the smell of urine and teenage discovery goes away in like 5 mins.

anyway, its been an october tradition for like...well since 96 at least.

I am not sure, but I believe you have to pay for the right to show RHPS and when you purchase or get those rights, they are yours for so many years maybe...and last I had heard, some [edited] had the rights and wouldn't allow anyone else to show it.

I could be completely wrong and seriously misinformed though, but I think this was coming from my ex who played Frankenfurter for many a year.

Or I could have dreamt it...lol.

Edit:
Name calling removed. After all, you don't know her - and she's a KG member...

I don't know the entire story on the rights to local showings with a cast - but I do know that a few years ago, the charge for a single public showing in October was $400.

I could ask about the cast rights if somebody on here is actually serious about setting something up...

For 2 years on Halloween, a club in Nashville called 12th and Porter had a wonderful Rocky Horror Show night. They showed the film on a projector screen, and had different local music celebrities playing all of the cast live and performing all of the musical numbers to boot. It was great fun and really high energy.

Maybe one of the theatre companies will perform this or ("Bob" willing) Hedwig someday. Both are fantastic live shows with a gauranteed enthusiastic audience.

I'm probably doing a trip up to Lexington this Halloween. They have a great RHPS on halloween...the Kentucky Theater gets packed. I did the last Knoxville production in 2000...no plans from any of those people to do one any time soon.

 About a decade ago they were had weekly showings in Powell. Then they dropped it down to once a moth, then the theater closed. Last time I was at RHPS was 2 years ago in Crossville. One of my friends managed to get to play it at the local movie theater. Damn I miss those nights.

Actually, the 2 that I know for a fact were involved were both managers at the Capri at the time. one was Imp and the other was Misty.
Misty later informed me why none of the other shows she wanted to do got done.
