you don't have a broadband connection do you?
Flash is evil. And you know I've got a broadband connection.
Bah. Flash is only evil when it's used when it shouldn't be. It's an animation tool. People just keep using it as a replacement technology.
It shouldn't be used in place of an XHTML compliant web page.
It shouldn't be used in place of a gif or png (or for animation, an mng).
It shouldn't be used in place of server side includes. This is a big, big problem.
It should most definitely
not be used in place of a good php or perl script. This is a big problem, as well. A good program written in php, perl, or hell, even C takes a lot less load from the user
and less bandwidth from the server.
And it's the server we're really worried about, isn't it? The lusers can go burn, as long as the server remains stable.
And most importantly, it should never be used just to yell "Hey! We know Flash!" at users. We're not impressed.
It
is a viable alternative to the mpg / wmv / avi formats, and of all those formats, only it can take directives from another program or XML file.
And it is, of course, a better medium for games and
toys than Java. Because, even more than Flash, Java is evil. =P
