Welcome to this little corner of the underworld from a fellow Floridian! Note, I'm not the official greeter, but Charon's on holiday, so you'll just have to make do. Red Pandas.. Very interesting, I take it as a graphic artist they are a symbol you use frequently in your work? Pardon if you have your webpage linked, haven't checked yet. But if not, you certainly should!
As for the best place to meet others.. well that really depends on what you're looking for! If you want enlightened conversation, your best shot's here on the boards, or at the 11th street Expresso House on fridays. It's on the events calender from the main page. A fairly diverse group, the average range of conversation goes from comparative martial arts techniques to disproving theories of martian colonization within the next 20 years.
Or something like that..
If you're up for dancing, you have a few more venues
There's Sanctus, which is the big monthly KG festivity, and gets a large crowd out every month, both from the boards and off. It's held every month, typically on the 3rd sunday, but this month on the 4th sunday of the month, which turns out to be the 28th. The party starts at 9, but there's typically a meet & greet over at Urban's Bar & Corner Grill just down the block starting at 8 first so people can have a chance to say hi before the thumping industrial renders conversation an impossibility. Try the chicken sandwich.. it's to die for!
There's also several smaller events (Don't blame me if I'm wrong, I don't have the census information!!) that go on either mothly or every two weeks. The most recent of which, which you sadly just missed, was Temple, held at Amnesia. It started roundabout nine, I believe, and it's also up on the events calendar.
There's also various meal-oriented events, although it seems Goths aren't big on southern cuisine or pizza, so I'm not the expert on those. But there's a variety of them available, and newcomers are welcome at pretty much any event, so long as they behave appropriately. As soon as they tell me what's appropriate, I'll pass it on
So, once again! Welcome
I hope you enjoy it!
