• Evil Dead Remake

No. No no no no no. Fuck no. Don't fuck with it! You can't remake Evil Dead. Someone is going to try and make it all slick and Hollywood, which is just going to make the movie sterotypical. One of the reasons Evil Dead rocks so much is cuz it's so low budget. And, you can't top Bruce Campbell. He IS Ash.

What the fuck are these people thinking? Wasn't Evil Dead II already a remake? Raimi should have enough bank and clout after his 2 Spiderman movies to make a proper Evil Dead IV (continuing from the "downer" ending from AoD please) with the budget he wanted for Army of Darkness.

I just don't understand the thought process.

Evil Dead was terrifying
Evil Dead II was a funny gore fest with some scares
Army of Darkness was just plain cool

And yeah, the idea that this could possibly work without Bruce Campbell (Who fucking MADE Bubba Ho Tep) shows a real lack of judgement.

Well... Sam Raimi directing, and I can only assume Bruce Campbell would play Ash, unless he plans on doing something entirely different with it.
Maybe something darker, more intense? It might work, I just don't see the point.
I'm usually not against remakes of horror films, but the original Evil Dead is a classic that doesn't need to be tampered with or revamped.
If so, they better rebuild the cabin in Morristown to film it in, by god.
Why not Evil Dead 4 in a post-apocalyptic setting ala the original ending to Army of Darkness instead?
