granted, this doesn't help if you're prone to drifting between computers, of course; and if your cache is small, for whatever reason(s), the gifs would be cycled out.

Yes, Ibbie, I know how web browsers work.
It's still doing it. It's always worked like this on these kinds of boards (referring to the software). Those things just don't get put in cache, for some reason. Neither do the avatars, as far as I can tell. It's worked like that on different computers, as well, not just on this one.
Also, having to actually log in to post is annoying, rather than being able to type your name/password on the fly.
