:D It is quite excellent. I can, now, click on something, get up for more coffee and the page is actually loaded before I get back. Nifty!

My favorite part is.. IT LOADS! The old forum wouldn't load at work. Well it might once ever 50 tries. It sucked.

Now im a happy girl!

I've said it before - I will be impressed once we have about 3 thousand posts.

The old forum was fast once.

That's funny, I find these kinds of forums much slower loading than the old one by far, on a dial-up. The fact that every time you open a new page it has to freshly load all those .gifs of buttons (profile, etc) is annoying.

Well, I told him to change over, but it took him this long to do it...never listens to me....

I like it, too. I'll like it even better when I can figure out how to use all the little thingies, but that's my fault, not the forums. :?

do you keep some kind of file cache within your browser?

the images should only really have to be downloaded once, and then simply displayed from your hard drive each subsequent time you load a page that contains said image.

granted, this doesn't help if you're prone to drifting between computers, of course; and if your cache is small, for whatever reason(s), the gifs would be cycled out.

Yes, Ibbie, I know how web browsers work. 8)

It's still doing it. It's always worked like this on these kinds of boards (referring to the software). Those things just don't get put in cache, for some reason. Neither do the avatars, as far as I can tell. It's worked like that on different computers, as well, not just on this one.

Also, having to actually log in to post is annoying, rather than being able to type your name/password on the fly.
