That's absolutely insane....and it breaks my heart.
You're right...there is NO punishment that could be suitable for something like this.

I say strangle her and carve her up...then again I believe that the punishment should mimic the crime.

No… this one call for a more painful tormenting death as a punishment, some thing like secure the woman down to a chair, cut small slits in her arms, and let water beetles crawl in and eat her alive from the inside.

I've been keeping up with this on cnn at work.
They've mentioned that she's probably going to plea insanity.

i see nothing wrong with that. she is obviously insane. however, i do not think that is any sort of excuse or should have any bearing involving the reduction of the severity of her punishment.
That really scares me!

Anyone who would do something like that is insane. I think that the woman should get life, and a whole lot of counseling and study to see what makes people do such crazy shit. Personally, I do not support the death penalty. Its too easy of a punishment and it teaches us that it is okay to take someones life in certain cases, I think that makes the whole murder thing much too confusing. This woman however is definately sick, and needs to be studied very closely, maybe if we can find out why people do these things, we can then prevent it before it happens.
well there is my hippie two cents.

Psychology has a list of things that happen to people that cause them to exhibit certain tendencies. Any of the common childhood traumas like unnessesary beatings, starving, restraints, overprotection, early exposure to violent death can be linked to mental illness. It also has been said that low self esteem coupled with solitude breeds a need to connect on a "deeper" level. I personaly think that if you were to study her you would find that she has nothing new to give to the world of psychology and it would just be more fun to slice her open while she is awake, sit her internal organs next to her, and coterize the wound while open so she can hold her intestines, stomach, lungs , and such in her arms. After all, She just wanted a living creature in her arms.

Right..she's crazy she didnt know what she was doing...so....she doesnt know where gonna kill her...put her in the electric chair and tell her it's a carnival ride...seriously...I got a real soft spot for kids...if it's one person killing another..so what?...more beer for me...but kids?....let me have her for a few weeks...as far as studying her...yea she probably wont shed much light on human behavior...but sure till they hit the switch study away...she might do some small amount of good that way...but if she gets anything less than the death penalty due to insanity then somethings wrong...there's just no excuse ...you were abused..so was I....you were ridiculed..so was I....you never fit in..me neither....life is pain princess anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something...know what I mean?...how you deal with it is what makes you what you are...do you become a victim or do you fight?? If your worth my time you fought...ah shit Merc could explain this way better than me...

I think joe is trying to say is that if you give sympathy to someone who does things like this you are also being sympathetic to their situation. The death penalty isn't punishment in my eyes in this case. It is hitting a reset button and removing a threat to others.( I like the idea of reincarnation) Being crazy isn't an excuse. If I run out into the street in a blind fit of rage due to a nervous breakdown and start busting shots at people I would expect from my current stand point that the cops shoot me in the head. Shit happens. She may not have been in control of all of her faculties but sense when is it right to carve someone up and steal a living being out of them.

yea..pretty much..I hate to hear people trying to excuse there dumbass behavior as being a product of there enviorment..I am a soft determinist myself..(not because Im a fatass..lol) enivorment does play a part in your behavior just like an enormous list of other things that do as well...but we have freewill also...that's why we have to deal with things...if hard determinism was correct we would never have to deal with anything we would just do them like breathing or your heartbeat...thats my problem with insanity pleas it takes all responsibility off the individual and places it on anyone or anything but themselves(hard determinism)...but I think Rollins said it best in The Iron "You dont have to lose it you really dont theres no excuse for flipping out at the work place, school, home, you need the iron mind."
