We've discussed this film in various other threads, but I just saw it last night and wanted to give it its own. This movie rocked. I've heard people bitch and moan about the end, but it didn't make much differrence to me - I'v seen Suicide Circle. Fucked up endings really don't bother me that much anymore.
Violent hateful unrelenting gorey shit happening here, and from France of all Places. I read that the director had been chosen to helm a remake of Hills Have Eyes. If this, his first horror film, is an indicator, we are in for a treat.
Everything about this movie screams class and style and yet is is still so brutal and unforgiving - From the days when slasher films were made without laughs. Simply outstanding. I hope they don't water it down for it's Valentine's Day US release...

Heh,heh hell yeah, now you see why I think it's the best of the year(I still have to see the Machinist).Aja might be the best thing to come out since McKee,Miike, or Nakata, and he might have just reinvented the slasher genre(cool of Wes to let him helm Hills, but after seing his flick I think it's an obvious choice ).Good to find someone else who has seen it,btw I have a copy(making a dub for someone now, trading) if you don't
Also ck out the villian(dude) in Gasper Noe's(Irreversible) I Stand Alone. As for the ending well I dug it,but that seems to be the only complaint from some "picky" people.

As for watering down, with the way the m-ust p-unish a-ll a-rtists is acting lately( ie Darkness,Grudge)I don't know. They say it's getting the no one under 17 label, but with the way they cut up Grudge and Darkness, you'd think they were mormon(some messed up stuff going on in Utah video stores).Damn conservative wedge.Glad I have my nice uncut version.

that song was out almost 10 years ago
and i never thought i'd see it in a movie trailer
it fits really well though
