I saw this movie last night...it was...odd, and a bit uncomfortable...but in a good way. Very Entertaining

This was one of those movies that comes oh so close to being perfect, which is why it hurts so bad that it is not. Angela Bettis is simply outstanding as May. I really loved the life that she brought to the character. The writing was likewise engaging and sweet - the dog story in the park left me rolling.
What I could not take were the last 15 minutes or so. Cat killing does not sit well with me, nor the "logic" leading up to the ending. Don't get me wrong, I can buy the fantastical angle as long as it has a proper setup.
But I'm being nitpicky. This was a super fun film and I cannot wait to see what Bettis stars in next. She was just stunning.

And can you believe that was Lucky McKee's first film! What a cinematic jewel.I love Angela Bettis as she keeps on turning down big money to work w/ "artists(she's great in Tobe Hooper's Toolbox Murders too)." Remember if you have trouble finding a buddy, just build one(2 shots I really like, her staring at Sisto in the cafe, and her embracing her frankenstein at the end, kinda gets ya by the woo). And who can't forget her doll which plays the role of her psyche.
Can't wait to see his next film(w/ Bruce Campbell) which revolves around an all-girls school surrounded by woods where strange things begin to happen(set in the 60's,I know sounds like the Village/Susipiria).
