PROPOSAL: Knox Goth Rocky Horror production

I'm 100% serious about this. Props wouldn't be too much of an issue - it's all about the dialogue and songs anyway, right? And the DJs could play the songs so we wouldn't all have to sing.

Riff-Raff - Me, of course.

Frankie - Take a wild guess.

Magenta - Tori Bat

Columbia - KarlaBOO

Eddie - Mafiaman

I have no clue about Janet or Brad or Dr. Scott; suggestions?

If it's a go, you can always call on the seamstresses on the board to help with costuming! I worked on a few pieces for some of the members of N9 and Lips Down Over Dixie, the two primary Rocky groups of Atlanta.

*volunteers*

Hmmm...I think that the people that did it before had some good reasons to quit.

And...you need a theater and all that shit...

but it would be fun...I think that Nem's talent should be put to good use...(that being the only reason half of us haven't yet killed him).

And I can see Karla as more of a Magenta than Tori. She had the hair and makeup for it on at the last sanctus. Tori could probably pull off Colombia.

And Sir Diddimus has to be the Criminologist, right?

Oh great gods, I am NOT cutting my hair to play Brad. Ever. Again.

I'm up for it... as if you couldn't see that one coming... Of course there is a lot of red tape: Theatre, Rights, Print of the Film...etc. etc. I think really the hardest part would be finding a theatre, Unless we're talking about The Bijou; who were always happy to have a Rocky show or shows as the case may be...

No no, I'm suggesting doing it at Sanctus. There's plenty of room. The dancefloor of Sanctus is larger than many, many theater stages. There are hardly any costume changes. I think it could be done, and afterwards, proceed with the usual dance night.

I actually think that Tori would make a better Janet than Magenta. She's just too gooey sweet for Magenta. Magenta should be Pharinet. Brad should be played by Mike Mahafey (sp?) from 11th St. Dr. Scott should be played by Nerin.

actually I think Sanctus would be a bad idea, its going to be difficult to dance with all the rice, bread, toilet paper, etc on the ground, would take a massive cleanup afterwards, before the dance night even began, and the screen isn't big enough. There's just something about playing down in front of a BIG screen...

I'll second Santus as a bad idea. From a personal point of view while I would like to see a Rocky production I wouldn't want it cutting it on my dance time. Sounds selfish I know but that's just my take on things. How other people would feel about it is another consideration.

Places to have it? Well you know I've always thought that the outside pavillion at 11th street would be a nice place for a theater. Sore points to that idea...I know if I was a bussiness owner I wouldn't care to clean up the mess and the general community uproar over the performance. Ok take that back 11th street is a longshot idea.

Pilot Light might be open for it, hell there open for anything. You would probably have to take to Jason Boardman in the flesh and propose the idea and wat a few months in regards to sceduling but I think it might work.

Ok Rock Performance Virgin speaking here...does it have to be in front of a screen? I would think it woudl be kind of fun just to play it like you would a conventional play. Bring props over maybe, tweak a few lines and bang. you got instant romen noodle theater.

And this is a long shot as well but...would some brave soul attempt to have it played out in their home? Or their back yard for that matter?

And my fantasy Rock Casting...

Frankie...Caustic!!! No wait just kidding just kidding er Nemesis..

Eddie...X He's told me he plays a real mean Eddie. I believe him.

Columbia..Anoki. She's cute, she sings, and she can tap dance.

And that''s it for me quite honestly. If only we could convince Rus Harper to do Riff Raff....

Hammo from the pink sexies would make a crazy Rocky...

I think I unintentionally confused you all.

I wasn't suggesting showing the movie and having people act it out, like they do in movie theaters.

I was suggesting simply doing the play itself.

Back porch of 11th Street wouldn't be so bad of an idea.

The problem i forsee with 11th street is that it's a place of bussiness. I mean the 11th street folks have been ver kinds and accepting. They allow sword fighting, Djing, and Acid Jazz Trios. I think a theatrical performance of Rocky would be a bit much for them to handle though. I know it would be for me.

I mean there's clean up. Even if we beg everyone know to roll toilet paper and throw rice someone will do it guaranteed. then there's the obsceneities part. When it's out in the open you have to mind pedestrain trafic.

I'm not saying it's impossibe...I just think it's a long shot.

I COULD do eddie, i still have my eddie stuff, even tho as shown at Skareoke a few months ago, i would HAVE to brush up on my lyrics. I will say my hair is perfect for doing eddie, and if i keep shitty posture, i can always have super gut......

also, in the original production, Dr Scott was Meatloaf as well....just with a fake beard. so that pretty much back that up as well.

as for location ideas.....*shrugs*

Good reasons, yeah... the other people in the cast...

Talent? :?

Now this I can agree with 100% But I wonder if people really like being volunteered for this?

Should he be so inclined... " All Sliced Up and No Place To Go, Whoooo Chuckie!!!"

I think it's all just speculative at this point...just playing with who would be good for what role...

We can hardly agree on times for any events besides coffee and stanktus, or pull enough people to keep up good numbers on a weekly dark and spooky night, let alone organize an entire production. It'd probably create lots of drama.

We could all go and support the Lexington group...I went once with Nem and had a great time.

This is true... I just wish they had a more definite schedule of shows...
