I am a member of a new team in Knoxville,TN . I want to get more experianced people in Knoxville and the surrounding area (50 miles around Knoxville at this time ) to show the folks what serious playing is all about. We play woodsball & scenario.
I want members on the woodsball/scenario team STORMFRONT! We have 3 team leaders and each are responsible in recruiting their own members and setting up their own practice dates. So far, mine is the best but not the largest. I am also the Alpha team leader. The more people, the more squads, and thus more leaders. Let's create a unified force in East Tennessee. If you're already part of a scenario team and it's a small number, join us and continue as a new squad of the group. Squads will train with and against each other to dominate at games with not just quantity but quality players. This something for all of us here in East Tennessee to belong to. If you live here then you know what I'm talking about.
We practice when ever we can and where ever we can. Alot of the team has gone slack on me and I don't like sitting around waiting on them. Things that I need from each team member is to know their availability and level of committment. As I have always said, newbies are always welcome, but I don't have the time, money, and gear to outfit everyone. It's up to the individual to get their own gear. It's an investment not a whim. Now some people have the money just to throw around and get the latest hottest marker but most of us don't. I don't mind at all helpping someone get the gear but not if it's not a "big deal" and it is just a whim.
TEAM WORK:When joining a team, it's saying that you have the goods and you're tired of winging it solo. Also that you are mature enough to be part of a group with its own chain of command and guidlines. Also that "the sum of it's parts make up the whole". Some have clashes with others egos or don't like being told what to do. If that's the case, then you may need to stay solo or create your own team with your own set of principles. Remember that there is no "I" in team. One person can throw off the flow of a group and that's how teams fall apart or always lose games repeatedly even team leaders. You and your team mates MUST be on the same page and be able to work together to get the job done and the ability to help out each other.
COMMUNITY: I want to creat a team the works together for the same goals. That we are more than team mates, we're friends. Play video games together, go on camping trips, etc, etc, etc. We become our own community of sorts. Like an extended family. Something that you don't see much of any more.
But the main goal on playing paintball is to have fun! So if any of what I have said here appeals to you then please let me know!
My buddys and I over at http://www.tnpb.org/ are organizing this:
"Several of us have been discussing having a day of paintball with a cookout so that we could meet everyone face to face. We thought that May or June would be a good time to have it because it will give everyone enough time to schedule it and scrounge enough money together.
Location is our biggest concern. We know that the bulk of our members live in Chattanooga & Knoxville, but we don't want it to be too far for our West/Middle Tennessee members either. We will need a place to play and cookout.....where ever we have it. Please let us know if you are interested and if you have any suggestions for a time/location. "
For updates on time and place, check the link above periodically. That is all. Dismissed.
