Greets and Introduction

Hey all,
Just got back from Sanctus, and to be honest, it was quite an unfulfilling experience.
Before I raise any hackles, I must say, it was no one's fault but my own. The music was great, the venue was great, the costumes were awesome, and the dancers enthusiastic.
Unfortunately, I didn't know anybody.
I've been floating around the scene for about a year now, not a fixture, but I'm around. I usually come with a bunch of friends and I've got a girlfriend, so the pressure to meet new people really hasn't bitten me before.
Tonite, however, I went with a single friend whose sole purpose of the night was to try and meet a girl. This left me largely by myself for a good chunk of the night, and being an unconfidant dancer at best, with very little to do.
The whole atmosphere seemed like that of a large group of good friends, and I simply had no idea how to integrate myself. Hence, the last ditch effort of all geeks; do it online.
So here I am, I'm saying "hello" now, and I'd like to say "hello" to many of you at the next Sanctus.
My name is Aaron (or Thorn, if Aaron is too boring), and I'm 22 years old and male. Primary geekly interests are role playing and bit fat doorstopper fantasy novels, with a healthy dose of video games. I'm a Graphic Design student at ETSU, with about a year left before graduation. I'm from "around here", and have been from "around here" my entire life. My favorite goth bands are the Cruxshadows (big surprise) and Bella Morte (another big surprise, I'm sure), and yes, I even went to that poorly attended, yet oh-so-awesome Cruxshadows show in Johnson City at the Hideaway. Dear lord - no surrealist artist could fully grasp the weirdness of seeing the Cruxshadows at the crummiest of downtown bars in Johnson City, Tennessee. Just plain strange.
So that's my bit. Hope to talk to you all soon.
