Saw the most odd new movie last night...French film called Immortal. My understanding is that it is based on a Heavy Metal magazine story, and it looks like it.

Basic premise: A pyramid appears in the sky over a futuristic city. The Egyptian god Horus is grated 7 days on earth. Horus has definate plans for his time on earth and seeks a suitable human host.

There are aliens, mutants, and something called incusions taking place in the city as well. One of the leads is a gorgeous white skinned blue haired mutant.

What's really odd is that there are human actors, and cgi actors used to play different characters and I don't know why. The CG is horrible, video game quality crap and it really detracts from what is an otherwise very cool trip. Does anyone know why the hell they chose to do this?

Budget restrictions I'm guessing. I have had a copy of this for a few months, but have yet to watch the whole damn thing. I couldn't get past the shitty CG myself, it just lost me. It's one of the first films go be shot on a "digital backlot" (live actors shot in frot of a blue-screen with all CG backgrounds). I'm thinking maybe the final product was supposed to be a rough cut, and they planned on adding in better CG but lost funding.
