...ONCE...

MAYFLY'S TALE

it be matter of life and death
one lifetime of one day...

for many brights and darks we scuttle across pungent swampland home;
souls yearn to cross patterns in dry blue above

our prayerful long be heard one blazing rise:
great nymph grant us ethereal wings...

wish gift comes with whispered warning:
only one day be given to winged ones: USE WISELY!

in pulsing glow
chant of many wings be flight
my chosen one and i be invincible in our new love
ours be forever day to play in dizzy height
two hearts soar with angelspeed at wonder of life

**

too soon bleak grey gathers
my chosen one's frail shell can not bear weight of wet droplets
on ragged weary wings
still
he ripples with final grin
when spiraling into pool of birth

he sleeps once more... in gentle dreams
... dreams of softest rain
kissing open mouth
amid downpour of rapture

i circle in grey mist
in rain tears go undetected
thunder sounds like laughter

i fly into face of one and only blazing set
body ignites in searing madness

alone

staring into brightness
eyes be blisters of tears
joy and sorrow pour
from same wellspring

fireflies be falling stars from indigo above
guide my sightless voyage to resting place
till dusk do we part

you who be hearing tell
remember always and only

...ONCE...

too soon

Thank you for the nod. Yes... I was thinking after I suggested an exercise in "jumping skins" to you... this being jumping species... and trying to have a "voice" of an insect. It is not an easy task. I do not know how successful it is, but it was an attempt. Glad to hear you are pondering and ever working on new ideas.
