I'll let Vader answer that for definite. However last we discussed it, chat was leaving a massive security hole in the forum. Until we can be sure that it won't compromise KGs security the simple answer is no.
There were a few other issues as well, but that has been one of the main reasons it has not been back. Hopefully in time it will return, but only after issues with it have been addressed from the tech side.

i'm fairly sure that vader would rather give himself a root canal while stone cold sober than even consider using anything based on that old chat codebase.

there's a way to put a secure chatroom on the board, but since it has to:

1. be secure.
2. be accessible from the web. no funky external clients can be needed.
3. be secure.
4. be completely flash-free (per vader's explicit instructions)
5. not suck balls.

well, it'll take awhile to finish the front-end..
