Believe it or not, this is a $8 Nerf gun.
I am currently in the process of modding my own Mavericks. Picture to follow. Click the picture for inspiration.

I have a friend that makes leather holsters for these.
I'll send them this info cause theirs is unpainted.

Funny that, I'd love to see pics of the holsters. I just finished the base coats on my first.

I showed my son your website and he had a fit. He was like "get me the screwdriver." He already has one of those guns but I guess he'll just have to wait til I have the funds for the model paints.

FYI paint tips: It's about $2 to $3 per can for the spray paint to lay down the base color(s). Many of the forums on the subject recommend Vinyl Dye which comes in spray cans and is available at most auto parts stores. I have not tried this myself yet but you might want to read up before you decide what's best for you.
Don't spend money on those half sized spray cans it's more expensive in the long run. Go ahead and buy a regular sized can.
If you are just doing 1 color you can expect to use almost a whole can. [b]Be sure you spray VERY lightly for each coat. Allow about 15 min between coats.
Detail paint is sold in packs at Wal-Mart but the colors are very basic and IMO not worth the price for this kind of project. Just buy the colors you need for your project. That will be about $1 to $3 per bottle at your local hobby store depending on brand and what kind of paint it is. Assume $2 per bottle for decent paint in a cool color.
Get your brushes at Wal-Mart or the dollar store. Those foam tipped brushes work great for applying the detail paint for that "broken in" look. Those are about $0.30 in the craft area in Wal-Hell. You'll need a detail brush as well for coloring in the details with your bottled paint. That will likely run you about $0.10 and up.
Adding up the cost, you should be able to do a good paint job for about $10. $15 to $20 if you get silly with it.

I'll see if I can't arrange to take a photo. I think he did her name in pink rhinestones or studs on the holster as well.

THANKS, Arkady...

You, Sir, are an evil man...
I had to go get me one of these.. Ended up going to 3 places to find a Maverick. Got a Firefly too..
Currently in the process of dissassembly... This is too much fun!
Gives me a break from the real firearms in my collection...
I'll post a pic for you when it's done.

What's really funny about this is that Boo and I each have one too.

i just couldn't bring myself to do it. there's more depravity in six dvds than i can find online in two days. maybe once the UIL is compiled and remastered, i'll have second thoughts. (JC has a couple of clips that are going into it that i burned onto CD for him. ask him, it's going to be a sight to see - right before you claw your eyes out.)
