Hey folks!
I'm MsTinkerbell, in Seattle. You may wonder why a Seattle gal would be intruding upon your party but I'm coming to Tennessee in about a week and a half.

Heres the deal, I'm married, with a baby, my husbands family lives in Loudon (?) .... we fly into Knoxville on the 18th and are staying about 6 days. I however don't think I can handle being in a small town for that long!!

I've rented a car, and my husband, kid and I are going to be checking stuff out in Knoxville.

So ... anyhow, Hi!

Can anyone tell me where to look for vintage clothes in Knoxville, or in the surrounding areas?? I am DESPERATE for new clothes!!

Plus tell me where I can get a good cuppa cawfee. Oh and just umm, tell me where I can be cool, and still not feel out of place with pink hair?? :) Danka!!

The Vintage places I know/knew about were all in the Old City which is all in the downtown part of Knoxville, the older used to be the spot spot. Its not hard to get there, but I'll have to find street names.

And for good coffee Friday Nights are 'Black Fridays" at the 11th St. Coffee House. Take US70/US11 Kingston Pike through town until you get to the College campus, Univ. TN Knoxville, can't miss it. Drive on through part of campus, you'll see some construction and around there is 11th st. Make a left, you'll drive about 2 blocks and its on the right. To park you drive about another block up and there is a cross street on the right, turn there. BE SURE to not go too far, if you do you'll wind up on some whacky one ways. THere is a kiddy playground there called Fort Kidd, but parking there after dark is ok, til like 7:00 AM. Other KG'ers correct me if I'm wrong.

Hope that helps.

It's a shame you won't be here on the 15th that's our big once a month dance night! However you should check out 80's night on the 20th. If it is anything like the last one.. it should be awesome!

A faerie from the Emerald City coming here? Too wicked, yes indeed we do have black coffee hour at 11th street on Fridays, but that Friday we are also having 80's night at Ivey's. Hopefully more of us will show up at 11th street that night, before heading out to 80's night. As for Vintage clothing there is an outlet in Crossville that has Civil War era stuff.

Welcome to KnoxGothic, I hope your visit will be an impressionable one.

Hello! Welcome to the board! We live in Lenoir City, about 10 min north of Loudon. My hubby moved here from Seattle. :D Maybe we can all get together while you are in town.

Thanks Everyone!

I'm not too sure how much time I will have to go out in the evenings. My time will be with family mostly... so during the day I will be trying to collect some vintage clothes.

What I normall collect is 40's & 50s and lingerie. *A girl can never have too much lingerie* ;)

Glad I found this place! You all seem very friendly! Thank you.

Ciao,
Tink

Hello! I'm from the Lenoir City/Loudon area, and there are some cool places to find things there. I collect vintage slips, and most times when I visit my mom I go scouting. There is Good Neighbors on Broadway in Lenoir City. It's small, but they get some good things. There is a Huge Goodwill about to open on Hwy 321 in LC as well. If you do have some spare time to meet up, there are some good thrift stores close by my house in west Knoxville. It's about 20 minutes from loudon on the interstate. Let me know. Enjoy your visit!!

KarlaBOO Thank you so much!!

My in-laws are having their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday night. So, that is the only DEFINITE thing I have planned but I am going to be visiting with a lot of my husbands relatives.

I hope that I can atleast get a few things while there. I have a heck of a hard time finding anything in Seattle. Especially since I moved here from San Francisco and really got spoiled there.

I am going to go to the Auto Club (AAA) and pick up some maps and such, can I email you with questions?? Thanks!!
