I think you're beginning to understand. Good for you. This isn't drama or a flame, it's a complaint. I'm aloud to voice my concerns, and that's just what I've done. Thank you for understanding, JC.

1 more time into the world of fun.......... :D

1 very confused Celestial Dung

Let it be known that I didn't agree with the killing of the how many thread. But I don't exactly feel up to intruding on Aural Fixations area here. At least for something that in all honesty is a bit trvial.

Don't like a thread? Don't read it.
Your favorite thread got blocked? Start another one.

If any moderator ever abuses his/her power then then I suppose I little meeting of moderating minds will have to occur. So far I don't see what Aural did as abusive. Silly maybe but not all that abusive. As I've mentioned before you can aleays start another how many thread.

The over moderatred remark confuses me a little. So far most edited posts of occured because of

1. Personal attacks.
2. Flame posts.
3. Giving out private information.
4. Moving threads to proper areas.

So how moderated do you think this forum should be? To me all the examples listed above are good reason for editing. This keeps the board from becoming just another scream and attack message center, somethign I've seen pleny of boards disentergrate into.

But if you have qualms, then tell us in paticular. How do you feel over moderated?

And keep in mind that each moderator has a life outside the board. I would guess that of all the moderators I have the most amount of free time and even then I can't be on here 24-7. We might not get to your concerns immediatley but we'll try our best to be timely.

Well, dur.

Your favorite thread got blocked? Start another one.

How's about we not get penalized for Moderator errors that can easily be fixed by a Global Moderator? Why can no one unlock it, if it was locked arbitrarily?
Plus, the whole POINT to the "How Many" thread was the build up.

Reasons I agree with, none of which applied here. So, correct the mistake.

Arbitrary locking of threads is one reason.

Besides, this sets a precendent - a very bad one. A few questions:

Does this mean that I can lock a thread in the Literary Gothia, simply because I find the subject inane?
What if I dislike the author they're talking about?
Can I refuse to allow someone I find personally annoying to join?

I'd say no, to all of the above, and the Literary Gothia is a tightly moderated forum.

So how come the Dumpster has different, more "moderator's whim" style rules?

Where's the line? And, do we have any one here willing to draw it? Or even anyone willing to set things right, when it's crossed?

This is the dumpster. it's different.

moderator whim is much more ok here - it's as much a part of the dumpster as anything else.

of course, it might turn into moderator wars - which would again be as much a part of the dumpster as anything else.
