Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor)

Post by Nephilim »

A Russian flick that made its way to the US this year. It hit some select theaters and had literally NO advertising. In Russia it broke box office records. I stumbled across it on quicktime movie trailers page and found that it's already released on DVD here. It's the first movie in a trilogy (Night Watch, Day Watch, Dusk Watch) and based off three books by the same name (I don't know if they've been translated to English, but I am going to find out, as I want to read them).

Holy shit, this was a cool movie! It's wierd, and a little hard to follow at first, but if you stick with it, it starts to make sense and apparently the second movie brings it even more together.

This is possibly the best vampire movie I have ever seen and it's certainly the best vampire movie in recent history.

Personally im excited about the Necroscope movie. Hopefully they won't butcher it as that series is my all time favorite vampire series ever.

Oh...it gets better. Just watched the second in the series (Day Watch) and it's a lot better than Night Watch.

The third (Dusk Watch) is currently in production, and is apparently being filmed in English.

hell i'll have to check out the other movies. i personally enjoyed Night Watch.
I hate that saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too."

Because what's the point of having cake when you aren't able to savour and enjoy every tastey morsel it has to offer you.....
