I'm sad to say that every last one of you should grow up and atleast try to find out what someone means before calling him an idiot
Now the fact that you are referring to yourself in the third person is a bit bizarre. All that aside, I thought I was very polite, asking you without malice what your definition of a real Vampire is. I admit, I giggled much through this thread, but I am also extremely open minded with an interest in Vampires/Vampyres, Umpir - whatever. Now as far as joining Vampire Group, I highly doubt this would be something I would be interested in. But, I would be more than willing to talk with you offlist in reference to the mythology of Vampires, Vampires in literature/film. Hell, I would even be willing to talk about Sanguines and/or blood play. So, relax........feel free to put forth your views and interests on the board, but remember freedom of speech means all speech, even if they do not agree with you

No,no,no,no,NO furries. Mythical beasties. Come on guy, break out your Monster Manual.
Was that a geek check? Cause you do not want to go there. I'll break out my Fiend Folio so quick you'll have to roll a saving throw versus Geek Lust!

Hells yes. One of the things that has been missing from this thread is a saving throw.
Now if we're all going to be other things. I'm going for Maxwell's Demon.

On the outskirts of society, yes, like-minded NO. Thank goodness we are all quite different. I don't know of anyone here who thinks they are a vampire, but perhaps they've been quiet about it because they know that most of us stopped believing in things like vampires, santa, the tooth fairy, god, etc, a loooong time ago.
We are a very sarcastic bunch with dark senses of humour, you have got to be a little more thick-skinned especially if you are making claims to be a chylde of the nyght or whatever.
I'm sorry, I'd do the same thing to anyone coming on here claiming to be Napoleon Bonaparte or Jesus. Someone has got to "keep it real."
Perhaps you could enlighten us with what you mean by "vampire" if its not the common definition:
1. A reanimated corpse that is believed to rise from the grave at night to suck the blood of sleeping people.
2. A person, such as an extortionist, who preys upon others.
3. A vampire bat.
As an anthropologist, I am quite interested in what you have to say.
Perhaps you should see what you have in common with us besides aversion to that "evil, yellow hurty thing " in the sky which some of us even like...
Perhaps we have some music or literature preferences in common?

you call yourself a real vampire and you are telling us to grow up? wtf is wrong with that picture?
nobody has been that particularly mean to you yet, and since you seem to think that "we" are, then i feel like i might as well live up to your expectations. i don't think anyone really took you particularly seriously to begin with, hence why the entire conversation shifted to talking about El Chupacabra. maybe you should pull whatever is in your ass out and not expect a serious response when you start talking about being a "real" fucking vampire. you were asked politely and you never did elaborate so we were only left with the assuming that you are a delusional and, well, an idiot. especially since you have the gaud to call us kids. how old are you anyway? will your mom even let you out for these meetings? jesus christ, i may not be the most grown up or sane person in the world but at least i leave myself grounded enough in reality to realize that i am not a mythical creature.
so to sum it all up, if you don't want to be called and idiot when you say something stupid, then don't say something stupid. say what you mean and maybe you will sound intelligent. or at least not crazy.
so.. go ahead, speak your mind, say what you mean, and i bet you will be welcomed a little bit better. unless you really do think that you are a vampire. and if that is the case, i will just make fun of you more.
and yes. i am an elitist bastard. i won't make fun of someone who is ignorant, physically displeasing, or has somewhat logical or at least thought out beliefs, but by god i will make fun of some stupid people.

Raziel,
I will go one step further with some other comments on this thread. One piece of advice is that the next time you try to reach out to find "friends" or make connections of "like minds", observe the minds that you are trying to connect with. I saw this kind of response to your post coming from the moment I read it, which was shortly after you posted it. I will reiterate a comment that I heard a long time ago, "Not every goth is a vampire, and not every vampire is a goth." I think, because of the confusion that so many morons (who have no clue about either one) make between the two, it creates a lot of animosity between the two groups, and yes, I have seen it go both ways. On that note, goth doesn't always translate to open-minded or non-judgmental people, neither does vamp. Open-mindedness and being non-judgmental are individual practices, not a group deal. Keep that in mind as you seek your connections; take time to observe the people that you are trying to make a connection with. You'll be amazed what you learn when you just sit back and watch for a while.
This is a gothic forum. There are other forums out there that are better suited to your initial post and some even with an emphasis on Tennessee if you should so choose to look for them. None of this post was meant in harshness; I just want you to be aware for future instances. People are human beings, and it is human nature to judge what they don't understand and don't wish to understand; then, there are those who know of what you speak and still don't like what that means, and then, there are those who understand and see nothing wrong with it or participate in it. Its all part of life.
All that being said, welcome to the forum if you should so choose to stick around and see what other kinds of conversations we get into around here.

Hey now. That is so NOT true. My gang on the blacktop had the kid with glasses, a fat kid, a mexican kid, a girl, a kid in a wheelchair, a black kid, an eskimo, a gay kid, and a nerd. We were all of the pieces of the schoolyard puzzle that didn't fit with the big puzzle. We were our own cool; an ethnic/disabled rainbow ready to rumble. And damn if we didn't own the see-saw.
Dude, i've got a full on robot chubby.
