Anyone else temped by this? Like the idea that one computer will be donated to a child in another country and like the idea that the laptop is trying new different ideas and concepts to improve the nature of laptop comutering. Computering??

Yeah, I'm sorely tempted by this as well.....just to see what it can do. Help people in developing nations at the same time? Bonus!

I think it'd be pretty bad ass to play around with.
Don't have the extra cash for it right now, though.

I got a eeepc which is pretty much the same form factor for the same price ($399) without this humanitarism. I got it before the get one give one thing came out. It's a really nice little laptop and I'm sure the XO is just as nice.

After a year I got myself one. I'm still playing around with it, haven't really done much besides play with the activities and got the developer key.
Thing is you can run a version of Ubuntu on it. Thing is you have to have a computer that has ubuntu on it to put it on the computer...think is me computer runs windows...thing is I'm eventually going to have mega headache partitioning the drive the fit in ubuntu....
Ah well fun times ahead of me.....
Has a cool moon phase application by the way...just in case you can't look out.

Hmm, why would you need a computer with Ubuntu already on it to put it on the laptop?
