A band from up this-a-way is playing Knoxville soonish so i thought i'd point them out--Reverend Glasseye and His Wooden Legs.

They are some crazy fucks who play really sick country-influenced dark "cowpunk" wackiness. They have a home-made calliope, an upright bass, a horn section, and a big gay pink neon cross that they like to encourage people to scream revival-style cadences at during the show. Their lyrics are twisted bizarre things about dead girls and perverted preachers and the like. I'm a big fan.
